WASHINGTON, DC— Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, WDG and NAI KLNB all recently announced new hires, ranging from roles in multifamily development, to loan sales to broker sales. Loan Sale Team Preps NGKF “For Any Correction” NGKF Capital Markets has recruited loan sales specialist John Howley and his team from Cushman & Wakefield. The team, which includes John Daniels and Mike Toulomelis, will be based in NGKF’s Tysons, Virginia office. The team will work with Steven Schultz’s loan sale team in New York City, New Jersey, Chicago and Denver, according to NGKF president James D. Kuhn. The hires well position the company “for any correction in the real estate markets,” he adds. Howley joins NGKF Capital Markets as executive managing director. Daniels comes to NGKF Capital Markets as director. Toulomelis joins NGKF Capital Markets as senior analyst. Kifayat, Scala, and Steingard Join WDG’s DC Office WDG has recruited three new professionals to its Washington, DC office.  Imran Kifayat, AIA, has been named director of multifamily. Lisa Scala, LEED AP, has been named director of business development and Bryan Steingard, AIA, has been named construction administrator. Kifayat previously served as principal with The Preston Partnership, where he directed the firm’s Washington, DC office. Scala has managed business development efforts for Hoar Construction, Skanska, KBR Building Group, Allen & Shariff, Himes Associates, and Herman Miller. In 2001, she founded and continues to run the CRE Networking Group, an informal networking platform for industry professionals. Steingard previously was a vice president with Clark Construction Group.

NAI KLNB Recruits Jesse Schwartzman More than a few retiring athletes have created a second career in commercial real estate sales and development, the latest example being Jesse Schwartzman following nine years with the Denver Outlaws in Major League Lacrosse.  That would also be the same Schwartzman who anchored the defense for two National Championships for Johns Hopkins University in 2005 and 2007. Now he has joined NAI KLNB to focus on business development, leasing, and sales of office and industrial product in greater Baltimore and Baltimore-Washington Corridor
