John Kevill

WASHINGTON, DC—John Kevill, a former managing director of the local office of Eastdil Secured has left the company to join Avison Young's Washington DC office. His title at Avison Young is principal and managing director of US Capital Markets.

Kevill will be doing a little bit of everything in his new role besides structuring capital markets deals. He has also been tasked in building out Avison Young's national capital markets platform, says Earl Webb, president of US operations for Avison Young, in a prepared statement.

In addition, Kevill will be involved in recruiting other brokers to the company's capital market team, says Mark E. Rose, chair and CEO of Avison Young.

“While expanding our investment real estate footprint across the country, he will work with our regional managing directors on recruiting capital markets professionals in key regional markets,” Rose said in a prepared statement.

And of course, he will focus on Washington DC's investment sales market, where he has closed numerous deals over the course of his career. (Before joining Eastdil in 2011, Kevill was with Jones Lang LaSalle for 17 years, most recently as managing director.) His more notable deals include the sale of the Evening Star Building, Bond Building, Commercial National Bank Building, Hamilton Square, Union Square, and 2099 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
