Ian Hunter Hunter joins Savanna after Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, where he underwrote and originated loans.
NEW YORK CITY—Savanna has hired Ian Hunter as director of valuations and operations. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in lending as a VP at Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, underwriting and originating corporate and mortgage-secured loans. Hunter’s responsibilities at Savanna will include valuations, operations and finance. Earlier, he was an associate analyst in equity research, covering REIT stocks at Oppenheimer & Co. and Bank of America. Previously, Hunter was responsible for rating securities backed by commercial real estate assets as an associate director in the CMBS group at Fitch Ratings. “We are pleased to welcome Ian to Savanna,” says Christopher Schlank, managing partner of the firm. “He has substantial experience in the real estate industry and is an excellent addition to our team.” “I am excited to be a part of Savanna,” adds Hunter. “I look forward to working with a highly dedicated team and contributing to the future success of the company.” He received an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a BA from Southern Methodist University. Hunter is a CFA charterholder and regular member of the CFA Institute.
