WASHINGTON, DC— Van Scoyoc Associates, a lobbying firm in the District, has signed a long-term lease with Hoffman-Madison Waterfront at one of the office buildings at The Wharf for 21,000 square feet. The company will be occupying 800 Maine Ave. , which is also where American Psychiatric Association signed a 10-year, 63,000-square-foot lease. The Wharf was represented by Brian Dawson and Mark Wooters of Cushman & Wakefield. The company’s founder and president H. Stewart “Stu” Van Scoyoc cited the building’s proximity to the Capitol and federal agencies. “We looked all over the city, but nothing else compared to The Wharf,” he said. 800 Maine Ave. is set to deliver in the third quarter of 2017. It is an eleven-floor, 220,000-square-foot office building at the corner of 9th Street and Maine Avenue SW. Fairfax Medical Center Trades in 1031 FAIRFAX, VA—St. James, NY-based Gyrodyne has sold the Fairfax Medical Center for $14 million, or $243.23 per square foot, to JAG Associates LLC. Fairfax Medical Center consists of two office buildings situated on 3.5 acres with 57,621 square feet of rentable space. Gyrodyne’s predecessor, Gyrodyne Company of America acquired Fairfax Medical Center in 2009 for $12 million, or $224 per square foot, of which $4.891 million was paid in cash and $8 million was financed.
