CHICAGO—Darwin Realty announced yesterday the passing of Dan Fanelli, principal of the firm. Fanelli was one of Chicago's top industrial brokers, helped manage the Elmhurst, IL-based firm, and a member of several real estate organizations including the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers, CoreNet Global, Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors, and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
He joined Darwin Realty in 1982 and spent more than 40 years in the real estate industry. He was highly respected in the industrial real estate community.
“Dan was an example of what a man should be in business, hard-working, knowledgeable, loyal to his customers and pleasant in his dealing with other brokers,” according to George Cibula, founder of Darwin Realty. “If I had a child in the brokerage end of the business, I'd want Dan to be their mentor.”
