HOUSTON—Downtown’s tallest residential high-rise to date is already an attention-grabbing focal point in the downtown skyline. Market Square Tower is a multifamily building slated for an October 2016 opening in the Theater District at 777 Preston. Rising 40 stories and occupying a full city block, Market Square Tower is within walking distance of restaurants, bars and the nine performing arts organizations represented in the district. The real story behind Market Square Tower is not its imposing silhouette but its over-the-top luxury and amenities. Those include a café, a second-level park terrace and pool; a spa with sauna, steam and treatment rooms; virtual golf, game room, poker suite, billiards, a basketball court, a movie theater, a cyber lounge, a grand ballroom, and a rooftop sky lounge, gym and training studio along with an infinity deck and pool with a cantilevered glass bottom hanging 10 feet from the building. Philip Schneidau , CEO of Woodbranch Investments Corp., tells GlobeSt.com: “The luxurious and dynamic amenities at Market Square Tower were meticulously researched by our team to create a new residential experience in Houston. Our state-of-the-art spa, poker suite, basketball court, virtual golf simulator and two unique pool areas are just a few of the amenities we have carefully incorporated to create a one-of-kind development unparalleled in this market.” There will be 463 units with rents starting at $2,200. Market Square Tower’s living units will range from 564-square-foot efficiency apartments to three-bedroom, three-bath spaces with approximately 1,950 square feet. A limited number of larger penthouses are also available beginning at 2,993 square feet.
