AUSTIN, TX—Another single-family home development is underway in the San Saba neighborhood in Hays County in southwest Austin. This marks a debut in Austin for Trendmaker Homes , a member of the TRI Pointe Group, within Belterra, a 1,600-acre master-planned community. With this first development in the Central Texas market, the builder is offering 38 single-family homes on 80-foot home sites at prices starting from the $560,000s. Sales are currently underway with one model home now available for touring daily. Terry Shuffler , vice president and general manager of Trendmaker Homes’ Austin division, tells GlobeSt.com: “We have a lot of new projects opening up, so we’re staying busy, especially as we expand our presence into Austin, after building in the Houston area for the last 40 years.” Trendmaker’s home selections include eight floor plans with three elevations each, ranging in size from 3,397 square feet to 3,974 square feet. Targeting move-up family and empty-nester buyer groups, residents will have the choice of one- and two-story homes with a minimum of four bathrooms, three to four bedrooms, up to three-car garages, casual dining areas that open into kitchens, game rooms and dens, hidden storage areas, covered patios and optional outdoor kitchens. As part of Trendmaker’s LivingSmart program, every home is designed and independently certified to exceed local energy codes and enhanced with money-saving, energy-efficient features throughout. Named Austin Business Journal ‘s 2015 master-planned community of the Year, Belterra offers more than 400 acres of open space and more than six miles of native and landscaped trails. Located a few miles east of Dripping Springs, Texas, the “Gateway to the Hill Country,” the homes are accessible by US 290 Highway West, about 25 miles southwest of downtown Austin. The community is part of the Dripping Springs School District, ranked seventh among statewide schools, and recognized for excellence in academic and extracurricular competitions. Rooster Springs Elementary is located within Belterra. “We are excited to be a part of this award-winning development by Crescent Communities and to offer our unique style of homes and features for the booming Austin housing market,” said Shuffler. “New residents will enjoy the convenience of having Austin nearby but will also experience majestic views, natural wildlife and the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country.” While Belterra is Trendmaker Homes’ first acquisition and grand opening in the Austin market, the company continues to strengthen its presence in the city and surrounding communities. In February 2016, the builder announced its second acquisition in Austin at Crystal Falls , which includes 29 lots for single-family homes. Additionally, Trendmaker is in the process of securing additional lots at Headwaters , a 1,035-acre development in Dripping Springs, TX. Austin development is abundant. What are the active markets?
