Are the Hottest Trends in Retail Fast Casual Restaurants?

LAS VEGAS— JLL was one of the many parties GlobeSt.com was in attendance last night in celebration of the ICSC’s RECon event. The firm’s EVP and southwest retail brokerage lead tells us that at least in Southern California, grocery and fast casual restaurants of some of the hottest trends at the moment in retail real estate. The firm’s Chris Wilson , also tells us that the state of the market is “super hot,” pointing out that cap rates are still trending down (albeit more slowly) in spite of a rising interest rate climate. “Rental rates are still very solid and in some areas rising,” he says. Wilson also points out that there are still fairly strong consumer sales—all tempered with a sense of inevitability that there will be a correction.
