Houndstooth Coffee

DALLAS—With farmers markets, public art displays by local artisans and countless community events, Sylvan | Thirty has a long calendar of events and activities for locals to enjoy. Sylvan | Thirty includes more than 200 studios and lofts, local retailers and a local, organic grocery market with farm fresh produce, artisan breads and a butcher.

Houndstooth Coffee has unveiled the design of its newest location opening next month at Sylvan | Thirty. There will be additions to the restaurant throughout 2016, with the cafe opening first, the kitchen opening in late summer, offering gourmet menu options for brunch and dinner, and the bar component to follow in the fall.

Brent Jackson, president of Oaxaca Interests and developer of Sylvan | Thirty, tells GlobeSt.com: “Houndstooth's customer-first approach is a perfect fit for our close-knit Sylvan | Thirty community. From day to night, the coffeehouse's atmosphere can seamlessly adapt to a customer's needs, making it an ideal tenant for any development.”

With a minimalist design, the 2,100-square-foot location will be the largest of Houndstooth's four locations. While staying true to its sister locations, the Sylvan | Thirty store will be adding unique elements of its own such as a free-standing bar. The versatile space will offer a sunlit area perfect for curling up with a book, as well as communal tables and spots at the bar where guests can mingle. The Jettison bar is a more intimate retreat for cocktails and conversation. Two large covered patio seating areas–akin to modern beer gardens–will be conducive to happy hour or a special event.

“We take great care in selecting the best tenants to be part of the Sylvan | Thirty family,” said Jackson. “Houndstooth's dedication to its craft, quality of product and its community make it a strong new addition to what we're creating here.”
