CHICAGO—Fifield Realty Corp., the Chicago-based multifamily developer, has just promoted Randy Fifield to the position of chairwoman, while Kevin Farrell was recently named president.
“With projects taking us from Los Angeles to Austin and, of course, many in our hometown of Chicago, this is one of the most active and exciting times in Fifield's history and it's an honor to have such driven and esteemed individuals leading the way for us,” says Steve Fifield, chairman of Fifield Cos., parent company of Fifield Realty Corp.
In just the past few years, the Fifield company has completed several mammoth developments in Chicago that have remade a large swath of the city. And its sister company, Century West Partners, just broke ground for NEXT on Lex, a $280 million mixed-use development in Glendale, CA.
As chairwoman, Fifield will oversee the design, marketing and execution of the company's apartment projects in Chicago and Austin, along with those by CWP in Los Angeles. Since joining the firm in the 1990s, Randy Fifield has led its rapidly growing multifamily division and, alongside Steve, spearheaded the delivery of more than 3,000 luxury apartment units across the US.
She is currently managing the completion of four luxury rental projects comprising 1,492 units, all of which are set to deliver by the end of 2017: NEXT, a 310-unit tower in Chicago's River North neighborhood; The Sinclair, a 390-unit, transit-oriented mixed-use development in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood; NEXT on Lex; and NEXT on Sixth, a 398-unit community in Los Angeles.
A Northwestern University graduate, Fifield serves on the boards of the Prentice Women's Hospital and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
In his new role as president, Kevin Farrell will manage the company's national apartment acquisition program as well as its new construction and adaptive reuse projects in Chicago and Los Angeles. Prior to joining Fifield in 2008, Farrell was a vice president at Related Cos., where he managed rental and for-sale residential development projects, including Roosevelt Square, a 2,400-unit mixed-income residential community on Chicago's Near West Side.
“I have worked with Kevin on and off for more than 30 years and feel privileged to have his expertise in acquisitions, development and construction as part of the Fifield family,” says Steve Fifield. “It's been very rewarding to watch him rise from a construction manager on the Fifield team during the 1980s to successfully leading our West Coast expansion with the creation of Century West Partners.”
Farrell holds an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology and bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Farrell recently served on the city of Chicago's Green Urban Design Task Force.
