hospitality Arbor plans to further invest in the hotel with more than $4 million in updates.
SAN LEANDRO, CA—The Hilton Garden Inn Oakland-San Leandro is centrally located in the East Bay, minutes from the Oakland International Airport and just off Interstates 880 and Highway 238. It has proximity to Oakland, Alameda, Emeryville, San Leandro, Hayward and Fremont. The 119-room select-service hotel has been acquired by Arbor Lodging Partners , hotel owner and operator. The acquisition marks Arbor’s entry into the high-demand lodging market of the Bay Area. NVN Hotels will manage the hotel, effective immediately. “The booming technology industry, world-class universities and cultural institutions of the Bay Area combine to make it attractive for hotel investment,” commented Vamsi Bonthala , chief executive officer of Arbor Lodging Partners. “This location aligns perfectly with our goal to invest in high-quality, well-located properties that will offer long-term economic rewards.” The hotel features a 1,300 square-foot meeting space that accommodates up to 100 people, an indoor pool, whirlpool and fitness center, and the Garden Grille & Bar restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Arbor Lodging Partners has plans to further invest in the hotel with more than $4 million in updates to the property. “We’re pleased to strengthen our relationship with the Hilton Hotels and Resorts family of brands with this acquisition,” added Arbor Lodging Partners principal Sheenal Patel , also CEO of NVN Hotels. “Hilton’s global brand recognition, commitment to excellent service and innovative hospitality practices make their hotels a great fit for our investment strategy.” JLL’s hotels and hospitality team was led by senior vice president, Mark Fraioli , and vice president, Melvin Chu . Sklar Kirsh represented the buyer. Andrew Kirsh of Sklar Kirsh tells GlobeSt.com: “This was a great acquisition for my client with upside potential. There were some challenges that we had to overcome given the TIC structure of the prior ownership along with assuring adjacent access. Because the parties worked well together, we were able to facilitate a smooth closing.”
