BRIDGEWATER, NJ— A former Bank of America operations center at 1125 Route 22 in Bridgewater is being transformed into a medical practice complex for Hunterdon Healthcare by DMR Architects . It’s the first of two buildings DMR is redesigning for Hunterdon Healthcare to support its expansion into Somerset and Warren Counties. “These new facilities will allow us to expand into Somerset County and improve care options to patients,” says Robert Wise , president and CEO of Hunterdon Healthcare . “This an exciting time in healthcare and we continue to make investments that put us at the forefront of the industry.” The 55,000 square foot three-story Bank of America building will accommodate Hunterdon Cardiovascular Associates, Hunterdon Heart and Vascular Center of Bridgewater, Hunterdon Urological Associates, Center for Endocrine Health and Physical and Occupational Therapy . The hospital system also plans to add its Breast Surgery office in August and Gastroenterology later in 2016. Atlantic Health System , through an alliance with Hunterdon Healthcare , will also have specialists in the new location. Hunterdon Healthcare will also act as the master tenant for 45,000 square feet of office space reserved for doctors’ offices that may or may not be affiliated with the hospital systems. “Excellent facilities are at the heart of exceptional healthcare strategies, and Hunterdon Healthcare has given us the inspiration and resources to design high-performing, patient-friendly centers,” says Lloyd Rosenberg, AIA , president and CEO of the Hasbrouck Heights-based architecture firm.  “In addition to redesigned spaces at the hospital’s Flemington location, we are honored to continue our partnership with these two assignments.” Construction will also begin in summer 2016 on the DMR -designed interiors of a 13,000 square foot new office building in Washington, Warren County, NJ, for Hunterdon Healthcare’s family practice, OT/PT and behavioral health. DMR Architects had done extensive work creating and refitting spaces for hospitals including several current projects with the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital System , and completed projects for Hoboken University Medical Center, Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck , and Hackensack University Medical Center.
