Anthony LoPinto Today the Wall Street Journal reported that for the first time, individuals who have a four year degree now outnumber those with a high-school degree. For decades we have known that college graduates out-earn their less educated counterparts. The real shocker in the report by Georgetown University's Center on Education was that of the 11.6 million jobs gained since the recovery began, 73% of those jobs went to college graduates. Clearly, the study reflects that we have a workforce of 'haves' and 'have-nots' and the gaps is widening and getting deeper economically. The root of this issue begins in our grade schools and high schools. In many communities across the United States our educational system is broken, and exacerbating the situation, higher education is out of reach economically. The current political discourse is appalling, and not once have I heard boo about investing in education. Sad but true, these statistics are going to continue to slide, further dividing our workforce.
