Stanford Children's Health The Stanford Children’s Health facility expands access to outpatient care for children.
SUNNYVALE, CA—Construction activity is winding down for one project, while in high gear for another large project in the city. Level 10 Construction has completed construction of the $47 million Stanford Children’s Health pediatric specialty services center, along with the core and shell construction of its $180 million Moffett Gateway project. Of the Stanford health project, Dennis Giles , president of Level 10 Construction tells GlobeSt.com: “The team strategically coordinated stacking of trades to meet schedule goals and utilized numerous innovative technologies throughout the entire construction phase including PlanGrid.” Level 10 Construction served as the general contractor for the design/build healthcare project, performing demolition, seismic upgrades, site work and a complete build out of the interior space. Construction of the 80,000-square-foot center included the completion of two procedure rooms, 10 exam rooms, several large collection and recovery rooms, a rehabilitation center, and areas for genetic counseling, and marriage and family therapy. It houses more than 20 clinical subspecialties, including endocrinology, dermatology, urology, pediatric development and adolescent medicine. The family-friendly facility provides an EEG and pulmonary function lab, a radiology suite, and a high-tech lab dedicated to the diagnosis and rehabilitation of sports injuries. The pediatric motion and sports performance lab analyzes and rehabilitates children with neuromuscular disorders or sports injuries, and is also equipped for the study and treatment of concussions. Stanford Children’s Health Specialty Services/Sunnyvale, designed by HOK , expands access to outpatient care for children and adolescents, as well as couples dealing with fertility issues. The center also includes an in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratory, equipped with a LifeAire System that is among only two in the nation. The state-of-the-art filtration system contributes to the optimum environment for embryo culture and IVF success. “Level 10 Construction’s goal is to build at the highest level,” said Giles. “We have achieved that goal through the successful delivery of this state-of-the-art-facility for Stanford Children’s Health.” The Moffett Gateway project is another development that includes two seven-story office towers, a parking structure with a green roof and a fitness center. The 15.5-acre Moffett Gateway project contains 612,000 square feet of class-A office space with views of the Santa Cruz Mountains and Silicon Valley. Adjacent to the two office towers is a parking garage with partial green roof. Called a “high garden,” the green roof contains a bar and barbecue area, multiple seating/dining areas, bocce courts, hardscape and native plants and trees. The parking structure rooftop also contains an enclosed 14,299-square-foot fitness center with locker/shower/stream rooms, a yoga studio, a TRX suspension training area, a weight and exercise room, a kitchenette, and administrative offices. Moffett Gateway also integrates a 49,000-square-foot landscaped central commons area. Developed by the Jay Paul Company and designed by DES Architects + Engineers , Moffett Gateway is targeting LEED Platinum certification. The project is offsetting 35% of its energy consumption by purchasing green power, includes 36 electric car chargers, and was constructed with large amounts of recycled materials. “Moffett Gateway is a unique corporate campus that offers many amenities,” said Giles. “We are pleased once again to have the opportunity to provide outstanding office space to Silicon Valley.”
