AUSTIN, TX—The last remaining office space at Lamar Central has been scooped up, securing the final non-retail space that was available for lease. E-commerce software shipping company, ShipStation , has leased 22,000 square feet of space at the class-A mixed-use development. The Austin-headquartered company inked a lease on the second floor of the building located at 38th Street and North Lamar Boulevard, according to Highland Resources Inc. “Lamar Central is an ideal fit for a thriving software company looking for a competitive edge,” said David Bodenman , Highland Resources vice president. “The prime location, parking, nearby attractions and top-of-the-line amenities at Lamar Central are just a few of the draws that make the development a great place for employers.” ShipStation’s software enables e-commerce retailers to efficiently process, fulfill and ship orders from the most popular marketplaces and shopping carts using the top carriers. Founded in Austin in 2011, ShipStation was acquired by Stamps.com in 2014 and continues to expand rapidly as an independently operated company. ShipStation’s team has more than doubled in the last year, outgrowing office space on Exposition Boulevard. “It’s an incredibly exciting time at ShipStation, to say the least,” said Nathan Jones , ShipStation CEO. “We’re experiencing tremendous growth. The move to Lamar Central allows us to accommodate more staff, expand our product offerings, and better serve current and new users.” The move to Lamar Central is currently in progress. The ShipStation office design will have a soft industrial feel, featuring private and team-friendly work spaces. Plans also include a spacious gathering area for company events and get-togethers. ShipStation will have ample onsite employee parking with direct access from the parking garage to the second floor and open floorplan space with high ceilings. Robert Gilbreath , vice president of marketing at ShipStation, tells GlobeSt.com: “The office space at Lamar Central is a great fit for us. The design and open floor plan has allowed us the opportunity to make the new space our own, and accommodate a fun and exciting work environment. Not to mention we are grateful to be near to such a wide range of places to grab lunch or gather after work.” Lamar Central was recently recognized as the best new office development in Central Texas. Additional office tenants include Kendra Scott Design, Regus, Pennybacker Capital, AEC and Academic Works . Retail and dining destinations include Westlake Dermatology, Finley’s Barber Shop, Campagna Napoli, Snooze Eatery and Chameleon Hospitality . More than 16,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor remains available. “Lamar Central is a unique building in the Central Austin submarket,” said Chris Skyles , partner at SkylesBayne and ShipStation’s leasing representative. “It was built to an incredibly high standard and offers a rare combination of institutional quality in a boutique package. There isn’t another building like it in the neighborhood.”
