MIAMI— John Zalkin has joined Rivergate KW Residential , a multifamily property management company. He comes on board as vice president of client services. Zalkin comes to Rivergate with two decades of real estate , property management, and client services experience. Before joining the company, he served as managing director at Kent Services, one of the largest privately held security guard and technology firms in the Southeastern U.S. “The condo conversion craze of last decade left South Florida’s multifamily market dramatically underserved,” Zalkin tells GlobeSt.com. “In this cycle, multifamily has become the focal point for developers who see the pent-up demand for apartment units with the newest designs, technology and amenities. For investors, multifamily properties in South Florida—and nationally—are a safer place to park their money.” Zalkin started his real estate career in the mid-1990s. He directed all property management functions over a large portfolio of multifamily and commercial real estate properties in Miami Beach. Zalkin evaluated complex commercial and residential real estate deals, conducting financial due diligence, securing financing, overseeing construction and completing sales transactions. Responsible for the development and implementation of growth and sales strategies for entire state of Florida, Zalkin built a broad network of residential and multifamily communities, management companies, asset managers and commercial management companies. At KW, he will work with company principals to identify strategic growth opportunities in the Southeast and beyond. “The addition of John Zalkin to our team is one that we are very excited about,” says Marcie Williams , president of Rivergate KW Residential. “John is a big believer in our core values that emphasize a personal approach to property management. His strong industry relationships will help drive our continued growth.” Rivergate also recent added Joya Pavesi to the line up.
