Health Conscious Restaurants, Fitness Concepts to Grow

Part 2 of 2 SAN DIEGO—In part one of this two-part preview story for the upcoming ICSC Western Conference and deal making event, GlobeSt.com chatted with a few expert sources on their expectations and predictions for the show among other things. Among them, Allen Ginsborg , managing director and principal of NewMark Merrill Mountain States , told us that traditional brick and mortar retailing is undergoing the greatest period of creative destruction in his 34-year career within the shopping center industry. Other sources discussed the evolution of the retail experience. One source we spoke with on the subject exclusively tells GlobeSt.com that food and beverage is one example of the “experience” that is in high demand and rapid expansion mode. “Fast casual and health conscious restaurants are driving this growth,” explains Grant M. Gary , president of brokerage services at the Woodmont Co.
