WYCKOFF, NJ—In the latest legal victory for Inserra Supermarkets in its fight to open a ShopRite in Wyckoff, the Bergen County Superior Court's Appellate Division has ruled in favor of Inserra's proposal. In a decision issued August 18, the Appellate Division unanimously affirmed lower court rulings, dismissing the final three counts in a 14-count objection filed by competitor-objector Stop & Shop.
Inserra Supermarkets has successfully turned back every legal challenge at both the Superior Court and Appellate Division levels, and says it is targeting a December of 2017 opening of a modern, 62,042-square-foot store at the corner of Greenwood and Wyckoff Avenues.
“The entire Inserra Supermarkets family is delighted to finally be that much closer to bringing a state-of-the-art ShopRite to the residents of Wyckoff and the surrounding communities,” says Lawrence Inserra Jr., chairman and CEO of Inserra Supermarkets. The family-owned grocery chain owns and operates 22 ShopRite stores in New Jersey and New York.
