Shovels Are Poised at Chisholm Trail Ranch

FORT WORTH—The master-planned community will feature both residential and commercial components, and residents will enjoy a hike-and-bike trail system linking existing parks and school sites.

FORT WORTH— Chisholm Trail Ranch, a master-planned community of residential homes and commercial-retail properties, is the first new development to begin construction along the $1.4 billion Chisholm Trail Parkway. It adjoins Fort Worth’s new 75-acre Chisholm Trail community park, anchored by the newly opened Chisholm Trail community center. This is all immediately adjacent to existing and new development along McPherson Boulevard. Home construction marks a major step in the transformation of The Walton Group of Companies’ Chisholm Trail Ranch. The 261-acre community will feature approximately 1,031 single-family residential homes including 169 home sites in phase one. Dunhill Homes–one of four local companies that will build the community–will break ground on the first model home and five spec homes, with completion scheduled for fall 2016. Dunhill will ultimately build a total of 48 homes in the first phase of development. “We’re thrilled to have Dunhill Homes break ground on the very first homes in Chisholm Trail Ranch,” said John Vick , president south region, Walton development and management. “Dunhill Homes has a long and solid track record for building the highest quality homes in North Texas. They’ll play an essential role in building Chisholm Trail Ranch into a vibrant, community that meets the growing needs of Tarrant County.” Chisholm Trail Ranch will feature both residential and commercial components, and residents will enjoy a hike-and-bike trail system linking existing parks and school sites throughout the area. Another highlight of the community will be an amenity center with a pool, a tanning ledge, cabanas, kid’s pool, play area, and pavilion for community events and activities. The center will begin construction in the coming weeks and will be completed in time for the opening of Chisholm Trail Ranch next spring. Vick tells GlobeSt.com: “With the newly opened Chisholm Trail Parkway, downtown Fort Worth is less than 15 minutes away. Within a few years, as homes are added to the community, new retail and commercial business will be opening within Chisholm Trail Ranch. To the north of Chisholm Trail Ranch, Chisholm Trail Parkway provides great access to area amenities, including residential, retail and commercial, and health care.”  Dunhill Homes is a division of Winchester Carlisle family of companies, headquartered in Dallas. It is one of a handful of builders nationwide that builds each home to meet the high standards of both the Energy Star and the Environments for Living Energy Guarantee program. Dunhill Homes was recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency as an Energy Star certified homes leadership in housing award recipient, and is a McSam Award-winning builder. In addition to Dunhill Homes, three other local well-established homebuilders will build homes in Chisholm Trail Ranch: Antares Homes, HistoryMaker Homes and Sandlin Homes .
