PORTLAND, OR—BPM Real Estate Group has selected Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, to build its Broadway Tower project in downtown Portland. With construction underway, the 19-story, 430,000-square-foot office and hotel development will be home to a 180-room Radisson RED hotel, and offer 175,000 square feet of office space and over 2,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

Portland, OR

Located in the heart of downtown Portland, Broadway Tower tenants and hotel guests will be within walking distance of some of the city's best restaurants, vibrant shops and boutiques, and world-class art galleries. Broadway Tower is Howard S. Wright's second project for BPM Real Estate Group in Portland having delivered the Pearl West office building for the developer earlier this year.

“BPM Real Estate Group is committed to developing intelligently designed projects that greatly enhance their communities and we're honored to be their construction partner,” said Troy Dickson, senior vice president, Howard S. Wright. “We have a great history working with BPM Real Estate Group having recently completed the Pearl West building, which is also home to our Portland office. We greatly appreciate the trust Walter Bowen and his executive leadership team at BPM Real Estate Group have placed in our team to deliver Broadway Tower, which will be an amazing addition to downtown Portland for years to come.”

The 180-room Radisson RED hotel will occupy Broadway Tower's first eight floors with class A office space occupying the top 11 floors. Broadway Tower's exterior will be constructed of a combination of curtain wall glass, terracotta rain-screen and storefront glass on ground level. The building will include parking spaces for 247 cars and 132 bikes on four underground parking levels. Kidder Mathews is the leasing agent for Broadway Tower.

Designed by GBD Architects, the hotel's open design will create an easy flow between the various spaces, including the lobby, restaurants, bars and meeting spaces. It will provide high-end restaurant and bar facilities on both the ground floor and second-level outdoor patio space that will overlook the South Park Blocks. In addition to its progressive art and music enhancements, the hotel experience will be further facilitated by a mobile app that provides keyless entry to rooms, and enables guests to order room service and stream wirelessly from their device to the television.

The project broke ground in June and is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2018.
