ATLANTA—Atlanta is seeing diverse commercial real estate news this week. From coveted office property certifications to unveiling of significant multifamily plans and big property management wins, here's some news you may have missed.
Columbia Property Trust completed the assessment and certification of all properties in its 12.3 million-square-foot office portfolio—except for certain buildings that are triple-net-leased or targeted for sale—in the Wired Score Wired Certification program. The program rates and recognizes the infrastructure, technology and connectivity of office buildings.
Fifteen of Columbia's office buildings received Silver Wired Certification, six received the higher Gold Certification level, and two have achieved Platinum Certification. The latter is the highest Wired Certification rating possible for best-in-class internet infrastructure.
“Strong internet connectivity has never been more critical to tenants seeking new office space,” says Arie Barendrecht, CEO and co-founder of Wired Score. “By providing a comprehensive resource on connectivity for landlords, brokers, and tenants alike, Wired Certification offers unprecedented transparency into a building's tech infrastructure and makes it easier than ever to market these features.”
In multifamily news, Pollack Shores has released details for Home at the Battery Atlanta, the new multifamily project at the mixed-use community anchoring SunTrust Park. The three multifamily properties will offer a mix of residential options, fine dining, and specialty retail.
Parkside will feature 211 residences on the main street in The Battery Atlanta, right next to SunTrust Park it's central plaza. Residents will have access to a clubhouse with views of the ballpark, a pool with sun shelf and lounge seating and a lounge and entertainment center featuring billiards and shuffleboard. Also planned is a rooftop bar and lounge with a TV gallery and wrap-around balcony with views of SunTrust Park.
“We've created this unique opportunity to not only tailgate from your patio, but also enjoy other qualities residents look for like walking and biking trails and easy access to major highways,” says Steven Shores, president and co-founder of Pollack Shores. “It's a truly unique residential mix with something for everyone.”
Moving on to property management, Germany's Union Investment just tapped PMRG to manage Ten 10th Street, a 14-story, 421,417 square foot, class A office building in Atlanta's Midtown submarket. Union Investment plans to invest significant capital to renovate the lobby and common areas of the building.
