Stephen Nemeroff, vice president, acquisitions and originations

NEW YORK CITY—Veteran finance executive Stephen Nemeroff has joined locally-based real estate private equity firm Madison Realty Capital as vice president, acquisitions and originations.

Nemeroff, in his new role at Madison Realty, will work closely with its principals in supporting the firms' external growth initiatives through identifying and securing new acquisition and loan origination business.

Nemeroff has more than 11 years experience in commercial real estate debt and equity investment. Prior to joining MRC, he served as vice president of acquisitions at The Renatus Group where he was responsible for new business development, as well as sourcing and underwriting investment opportunities. During his tenure at Renatus, he was directly involved in approximately $700 million of distressed commercial mortgage acquisitions and value-add real estate equity investments.

Previously, Nemeroff was a partner at Imperial Capital Co., a boutique commercial real estate advisory firm specializing in arranging mortgage financing and sales.

“Our success as a company over the last decade is attributed to both our vertically integrated investment platform and the dedicated and talented people we have brought to this organization,” says Josh Zegen, co-founder and managing principal of Madison Realty Capital. “Stephen will play an integral role in meeting our long-term objectives in both new acquisitions and loan originations as well as further deepening our team of multidisciplinary professionals with the creative expertise needed to meet the challenges of our industry.”

Since its founding 12 years ago, Madison Realty Capital has invested in approximately $5.2 billion of multifamily, retail, office, industrial and hotel transactions. Last month, Madison Realty Capital provided $63 million in financing to complete a multifamily project under construction in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
