WASHINGTON, DC–Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has announced its third location in the Washington DC area and its first in the District: It is opening a 44,000 square foot theater at MRP Realty's Bryant Street development along the Rhode Island Avenue corridor sometime in 2019.

Bryant Street, a 13-acre site, will ultimately include 1,550 residential units and 245,000 square feet of retail. Alamo Drafthouse will be the anchor retail tenant for the first-phase of the development.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is a luxury neighborhood theater concept created Tim and Karrie League. The seats luxury recliners and the auditoriums are equipped with Sony 4K Digital Cinema projection and high-end sound. There are, as the name suggests, an extensive draft craft beer selections available to patrons.

The first Washington metro-area Alamo Drafthouse Cinema opened in 2013 at One Loudoun in Ashburn, VA and the second location is currently under construction and set to open in the summer 2017 in Charlottesville, Va.
