WASHINGTON, DC—With its live displays already in use in selected cities by some of the leading office and multifamily owners, TransitScreen has now partnered with JLL for a national program. The displays provide local transportation data in building lobbies.

The product includes real-time arrival information for transportation modalities including trains, subways, ferries, buses, bikeshare, carshare and rideshare, along with traffic conditions. The idea is to give tenants control over their commutes while also promoting sustainable choices.

“This can reduce the need for multiple apps to figure out a trip, because all the information is in one simple place,” says Ryan Croft, TransitScreen's co-founder and COO. “Our mission is to save people time and reduce the carbon impact to and from buildings nationwide. We are excited to partner with an innovative industry leader like JLL to help us have a greater impact on life inside buildings and across cities.”

TransitScreen launched in 2013 from a civic technology project at Mobility Lab in Arlington, VA. Currently it operates from the 1776 incubator in Washington, DC, with additional offices in New York City, Toronto, London and Portland, OR.

As its screens are intended to help tenants find sustainable travel options, so TransitScreen prides itself on sustainable operations. It has maintained a carbon-neutral policy since its inception, for instance, and its network of screens is wind-powered.
