NEW YORK CITY—The company behind a certification system for Internet connectivity in commercial buildings has formed an advisory committee. Known as the WiredScore Connectivity Advisory Committee, the group will advise the WiredScore team as the company continues to improve the Wired Certification product while expanding into new markets and verticals.

Inaugural members of the committee include the following: Bill DelGrego, executive director, business development for Extenet; Susan Gerock, VP of IT and chief information officer, Washington REIT; Kevin Gerson, director of real estate with Zayo Group; John J. Gilbert III, COO and EVP with Rudin Management Co.; Tim Lehotsky, VP, building technology systems, WSP / Parsons Brinckerhoff; Neil Pennell, head of engineering and design, Land Securities Group PLC; Scott Puopolo, EVP, information solutions, iconectiv; Jim Read, consultant, digital & smart building technologies, Arup; Chris Smith, senior program manager, innovation at Google Fiber; and Bill Tyson, group VP, business operations at Charter Communications.

“WiredScore and each member of the advisory committee share a common goal: to propel building connectivity and infrastructure toward an innovative and resilient future,” says Gilbert. “We are excited to share our collective expertise with the company that has emerged as the industry's leading voice in technologically advanced building design.” Arie Barendrecht, founder and CEO of WiredScore, says the the committee's “broad base of industry knowledge will be instrumental in our continued advocacy for next generation, high-tech buildings throughout the United States and Europe.”

To date, WiredScore has certified over 750 buildings across the US and 222 buildings in the UK. Wired Certification is set to launch in several new international markets This year, starting with next month's launch of an office in France. The company has also recently hired a director to head up the German operation.
