Eastern Branch Boys and Girls Club

Washington, DC–Last week the District's Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development held its annual March Madness pre-solicitation event and announced several community development projects in the city.

Some, but not all of the projects include:

2 Patterson Street, NE, a 42,000 square foot lot fronting North Capitol St., south of New York Ave., and on the western edge of the NoMa district. The property is zoned D-5 and can be redeveloped by right as high-density commercial and/or residential.

Lincoln Heights, an existing public housing development owned by the District of Columbia Housing Authority with 21 acres of developable land and 440 public housing units. The city is seeking a master developer to build a mixed-income community.

The Eastern Branch Boys and Girls Club site, located at 261 17th Street, SE, in the Hill East neighborhood. The property is currently zoned RF-1. The site includes a 31,000-square foot building that may be either rehabilitated or demolished. RFK Stadium and the Stadium Armory Metro station are two blocks to the east.

Four Anacostia properties at 1414 22nd Street, SE, 1615 V St, SE, 1637 V St., SE and 2206 16th St., SE. The developer can build single and/or multifamily housing that meets specific affordable housing requirements.

Three vacant lots within the Congress Heights neighborhood located at 1444, 1452, and 1454 Alabama Ave, SE. The developer can build multifamily housing that meets specific affordable housing requirements.

One large vacant residential lot in the Anacostia neighborhood located at 2352, 2356, 2360 High St. The developer can build single-family housing to specific affordable housing criteria.

We'll look at more of the available projects tomorrow.
