Patrick Murphy has been named an executive vice chairman at the latter firm. While at CBRE, he served from 1998 to 2008 as executive managing director of suburban markets, where he oversaw six offices in New Jersey, Connecticut, Westchester and Long Island.
He reportedly brings a track record of representing multinational corporations and landlords on many assignments in the tri-state region, as well as globally. Murphy represents both tenants and landlords and has completed millions of square feet of transactions. His clients include UBS Financial Services, Odyssey Reinsurance, Time Warner, Bleacher Report, Société Générale and LeFrak.
“Since 1981, Patrick has shown a phenomenal capacity to tackle complex projects and win new business from around the globe,” says John Santora, vice chairman, president of the NY tri-state region for Cushman & Wakefield. “His talent is well recognized across our industry and he is exactly the type of executive talent that Cushman & Wakefield aims to attract. We're happy to have him on board and know that he will utilize our global platform to further elevate his already illustrious career.”
“When I started in the real estate business, Cushman & Wakefield was the dominant firm, and I always wanted to work here,” reveals Murphy. “I am a high energy individual, and the firm offered me the opportunity to continue to pursue my passion for real estate at the height of my career.”
He notes, “Commercial real estate is a wonderful business where investors and tenants have significant risk. I specialize in protecting my clients from those risks.”
Murphy was the executive sponsor of the African American Network Group at CBRE and is a member of REBNY and Corenet Global.
