NEW YORK CITY—London-based restaurant group D&D London has revealed plans to bring a new chef-driven restaurant concept to Hudson Yards. spanning 28 acres on the city's West Side.
Slated to open in the fall of 2018, D&D's yet-to-be-named modern brasserie concept will join the collection of more than a dozen restaurants curated by celebrity chef Thomas Keller and Related Urban president and CEO and restaurateur Kenneth A. Himmel.
The full Hudson Yards restaurant collection—which also includes concepts from Chefs José Andrés, Costas Spiliadis and Thomas Keller—primarily will be housed in the one-million-square-foot Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards, anchored by Neiman Marcus. D&D's new 11,000-square-foot restaurant on the fourth floor will feature a New York ambience with dramatic views of Thomas Heatherwick's Vessel, the Public Square and Gardens and the Hudson River.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be opening a restaurant in what is widely considered to be the most exciting and ambitious development in New York,” declares chairman and CEO of D&D Des Gunewardena. “It has long been a desire of ours to bring a new flagship restaurant to this amazing city. We spent a lot of time considering where to open and believe that the dynamism and creativity of Hudson Yards makes it the ideal location for us,”
He continues, “In my view, there is no other city besides London that can match the energy, vibrancy and diversity of the New York dining scene, and we are all incredibly excited to launch a new concept in what we think will become the new heart of Manhattan.”

Founded by Des Gunewardena and David Loewi in 2006, following a buyout of Conran Restaurants, D&D London owns some of London's most celebrated restaurants. Its portfolio includes 35 eateries and one hotel.
When completed, the 28-acre Hudson Yards complex is slated to be home to over 100 shops and restaurants, including the city's first Neiman Marcus, a unique cultural space, a 200-room Equinox branded luxury hotel and more.
