WASHINGTON, DC–Two Punch Bowl Socials, a restaurant-bar-entertainment concept, will open in the Washington DC area over the mid term, according to KLNB. One will be at Forest City's Ballston Quarter and the other, just announced this week, will be at Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners' 1250 Half St., a mixed-use project next to the Nationals Park that broke ground in February.
Punch Bowl Social offers premium craft beverages and a menu created by culinary partner and James Beard award-winning chef Hugh Acheson. It is also host to a variety of activities including karaoke, skee-ball, vintage video games and bowling.
It will make a very apt anchor for 1250 Half St., says KLNB's Ben Becker, who along with Jennifer Price and Steve Combs handled the transaction for Jair Lynch.
“Our leasing strategy was to first land the perfect lead tenant,” he tells GlobeSt.com. “Punch Bowl Social checked all of the boxes and once we found out they were interested in 1250 we focused on getting them signed.”
It has leased 24,000 square feet over two floors at the development — a two-building, 460,000-square-foot, mixed-use project that will have 439 residential units and 55,000 square feet of retail space.
The first phase is named 1250 and includes 310 apartments and approximately 55,000 square feet of retail on Half Street, which will include Punch Bowl Social. Phase two plans are for a boutique residential building and additional retail along N Street. Jair Lynch purchased the site with all cash in the fall of 2014 and expects to deliver the first phase in spring 2019.
