MIAMI—CBRE Group acquired Brenner Real Estate Group, a full-service commercial real estate services firm in South Florida. With the acquisition, CBRE aims to beef up its capabilities in South Florida, where the company targets property investors and occupiers with its solutions.

Founded in 1987, Scott Brenner leads the firm, which includes a team of more than 20 professionals based in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Melbourne. BREG's team is well- provides end-to-end real estate services including leasing brokerage, investment sales and property management. (Brenner handled receiverships during the recovery.)

“CBRE is constantly looking for strategic acquisition opportunities,” Arden Karson, senior managing director at CBRE South Florida, tells GlobeSt.com. “When I joined the firm back in January, pursuing this opportunity with the Brenner Group felt right for multiple reasons. I have known Scott Brenner for many years, we have very similar business philosophies, and we've both been in the business in South Florida for more than 30 years.”

As Karson sees it, BREG commercial real estate professionals complement the CBRE's capabilities in South Florida. The firm, she explains, will add “particular expertise and resources in Broward and Palm Beach counties, and in our law firm, land services and healthcare specialty groups.”
