WASHINGTON, DC–The Greenwich Group International is deepening its local office's talent bench with the hire of Jyotsna Sharma as director of Capital Markets and Investment Banking. Sharma was head of Corporate Finance for the real estate investments firm Meraas Group in the United Arab Emirates.
Before that, Sharma was an assistant vice president with Wells Fargo, working on joint ventures and strategic partnerships for the Advisors group in North America.
Sharma's hire follows Greenwich's recruitment of Kevin Roe from the retail REIT Regency Centers. Roe joined the local office in April as vice president of Capital Markets.
The reasons for the hires — these and future ones — is that Greenwich Group is expanding its footprint focusing in particular on growing its capital sources, Peter Witham, managing partner, Capital Markets & Investment Banking, told GlobeSt.com when Roe was recruited.
“Greenwich Group DC will soon be announcing additional hires that will enhance our ability to source international capital into the US market as well as product specific specialists in certain asset classes,” he told GlobeSt.com in April.
Fast forward to the present: Witham says that Sharma fits this criteria very well. She adds another dimension through her experience with financing mega projects in the Middle East, he says in a prepared statement. “Her experience funding these projects and relationships with Middle Eastern capital will increase our capacity to take on large mixed-use projects throughout the country in addition to our asset based equity and debt platforms.”
Greenwich will be making further hiring announcements that will add more specialty service offerings to its portfolio, according to Witham.
As he told GlobeSt.com earlier this Spring, “we intend to implement an aggressive expansion into other specialty sectors and international capital alliances.”
