NEW YORK CITY—Eric Michael Anton, a former senior executive with HFF and Brookfield Financial, who has brokered more than $12 billion in investment sales deals in New York City, has joined Marcus & Millichap as a senior managing director with its New York office here.
Anton, a 20-year veteran of the New York City real estate investment sector, has spent the last three years as a senior managing director at HFF where he specialized in office and residential investment deals. He has completed a wide array of deals in his career, including Class A Manhattan office building sales, as well as apartment tower and complicated development project transactions.
Among some of his more notable transactions so far this year include raising more than $21 million in common equity for a ground-up residential condominium project located at 65 W. Broadway in Tribeca for Cape Advisors; the sale of a $57-million apartment building in the East Village that closed in late June and the $385-million construction financing deal for a Lower Manhattan development project.
“Eric will be a great addition to our team nationally, as well as our New York operation. He brings with him institutional-level expertise and extensive client relationships,” says Marcus & Millichap's president and CEO Hessam Nadji. “As importantly, he will be a great fit within our Institutional Property Advisor (IPA) Division, which serves the needs of our major private and institutional clients.”
Anton says his plan at Marcus & Millichap “is to build a team focused on the core of the New York real estate marketplace—transactions from $50 million to $200 million.”
Prior to his time at HFF, he spent three years as a managing partner at the New York office of Brookfield Financial. He was previously a top investment sales broker at Eastern Consolidated and began his career at the construction firm Lend Lease.
