BREA, CA—Calligraphy, a new, 206-unit multifamily project in development here, will integrate art sculptures into adjacent public spaces, supporting the local community and enriching resident experience, according to Western National Group. WNG, in partnership with Anchor Real Estate Capital and Fantasia Holding Group, has begun construction on the project.

Calligraphy will be capitalizing on the area's love of art. According to Patrick Simons, managing director of WNG, “Brea is a dynamic and vibrant city, with one of the largest public art collections in the nation. We have intentionally tapped into that community benefit with the project's name, which evokes a sense of artistic flair.”

Art is becoming a draw in many areas of Orange County. As GlobeSt.com reported in August, Zephyr recently commissioned internationally acclaimed surf photographer Aaron Chang to produce a photography series exclusively for homeowners at South Cove, the developer's new seaside luxury-condo community in Dana Point, CA. The firm's VP of sales and marketing Amber Frankhuizen told GlobeSt.com, “While many developers are using incentives like luxury cars and frequent-flyer points to incentivize buyers to purchase high-end real estate, our partnership with famed photographer Aaron Chang is more about offering our buyers something incredible that they can't get elsewhere. Luxury buyers already have what they need to make their house a home; we want to offer something special that connects them to their community that's truly unique. This exclusive photography series capturing Dana Point does exactly that.”

When complete, the mid-rise apartment community Calligraphy will feature a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans, including two-story townhome units on the penthouse level. Community amenities will include a clubhouse and lounge area, resort-style pool and spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor pet-wash facility and landscaped outdoor spaces with fire table, barbeque grills and rooftop deck. Additional features include controlled resident access and gated parking for residents and guests within a multi-level structured parking garage. The project is slated for completion in Q1 2019.

Calligraphy will be WNG's 11th property in the city of Brea; the firm is the largest operator of apartments here. According to Simons, “The city's abundance of dining, entertainment and shopping options, award-winning schools and high quality of life continue to attract residents and businesses to this thriving community.”

Calligraphy will be situated within Central Park Village, a mixed-use master-planned community, which is planned to include a one-acre park adjacent to the apartments and up to 31,000 square feet of restaurants and retail space when fully built, providing residents with amenities within walking distance from the property. Central Park Village was awarded the “Gold Nugget Award” by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference.
