NEW YORK CITY—Thomas Shirocky, a real estate veteran with more than a quarter century's experience in real estate brokerage, has left CBRE's New Jersey consulting team and joined Colliers International as a senior managing director with its New York Tri-State operations.
Shirocky now works with Collier's regional consulting group and will provide financial modeling and reporting, innovative deal configuration, economic comparisons, and cost analysis on a cash and book basis for acquisitions, dispositions, strategic planning initiatives and other client projects, Colliers reports.
During his 26-year real estate career, he has held similar positions in several full-service commercial real estate firms in the New York region, as well as in the Denver and Houston markets. Shirocky has an extensive track record as a consultant on large transactions and has advised senior management of numerous Fortune 500 companies regionally and nationally on the financial and operational feasibility of their real estate strategies, the company adds.
“Tom Shirocky is one of the smartest, most accomplished financial professionals in New York real estate, and he adds another layer of excellence to a team that already impresses with their level of expertise each and every day,” states Colliers' eastern region president Joseph Harbert.
Most recently, Shirocky led CBRE's New Jersey Consulting team and provided strategic and financial analysis, transaction management and lease review for office, industrial and retail projects in New Jersey and other national account transactions. He began his real estate career at Edward S. Gordon Co.
“Colliers is in the midst of a major expansion both in New York and across the country, and I'm excited to become part of a team that increasingly boasts such expertise and industry standouts,” says Shirocky. “The firm is truly challenging the established hierarchy and status quo in the Tri-State, and my skills and experience will complement both how it serves clients now and how it expects its capabilities to grow in the future.”
Shirocky is the latest in a number of new hires that have grown Colliers' brokerage and support services in the Tri-State region. Other notable recent talent acquisitions from other brokerage firms include David A. Green, C. Bradley Mendelson, Michael Stone and David Tricarico, a large capital markets team led by Scott Latham, Richard Baxter and Yoron Cohen, and office broker John Zuckerman.
