BRIDGEPORT, CT—A proposed $675-million casino project to be built at the Steelpointe Harbor development here will require approval by the state legislature and could be controversial, but will definitely be a job generator for Fairfield County and the Nutmeg State.

MGM Resorts International and The RCI Group, the developer of the Steelpointe Harbor project, unveiled plans on Monday for the project that if approved, would involve more than 100,000 square feet of gaming space, including 2,000 slot machines and 160 table games. The project is expected to create more than 7,000 jobs.
