HOUSTON—In the wake of the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey, Trademark Property Co. is activating its portfolio of mixed-use developments across the country to support storm relief efforts by donating to the United Way. United Way is waiving all general and administrative fees so that 100% of donations directly benefit hurricane victims.
Trademark is partnering with the United Way to administer the fundraising campaign. Donated funds will be distributed to local United Way chapters in areas impacted by the storm to provide support for recovery efforts and to meet the needs of evacuees seeking shelter and long-term assistance.
Trademark's properties have launched fundraisers in local markets, bringing together tenants, financial partners, customers and the community to help those impacted by the storm. As part of this campaign, Trademark has pledged to match up to $150,000 in company-wide donations and its financial partner Miller Capital Advisory Inc. has pledged to match up to $50,000 at La Palmera in Corpus Christi, TX.
The real estate community is encouraged to donate online or by texting HARVEYHELP to 30306.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have suffered tremendous loss as a result of the recent hurricane,” said Terry Montesi, CEO, Trademark Property Co. “As a company with deep ties to Houston, Corpus Christi and the Gulf Region, we are inspired by the stories of resilience and communities coming together. We're proud that so many of our partners, tenants and employees are rallying to support these communities in their greatest time of need.”
Three of Trademark's properties are located within Hurricane Harvey's path: La Palmera in Corpus Christi, TX, Market Street–The Woodlands in The Woodlands, TX and Rice Village in Houston. In addition, the company has family, friends, employees and tenants who have been impacted by the storm.
The fundraiser is part of Trademark's Make a Difference initiative, which encourages community service at all levels of the company. Trademark's employees and properties serve through volunteerism, property-level efforts to raise awareness and funds, partnerships with community organizations, and through implementing Conscious Place initiatives on property.
“After witnessing the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, it has never been more important for Trademark to live out our 'Make a Difference' initiative, which encourages community service at all levels of the company,” Montesi tells GlobeSt.com. “Because of these guiding principles, we are compelled to help these communities during their greatest time of need, and we hope to encourage others to support those in need.”
