Wendland Plaza

KILLEEN, TX—Amid the consumer shift in retail preferences, retail centers are increasingly looking to provide a mix that is not only diverse but also interesting and compelling to its surrounding target demographic. With that in mind, The Woodmont Company recently completed a 45,000-square-foot lease with Conn's Home Plus at Wendland Plaza, a 192,322-square-foot retail center located at 1101 S. Fort Hood St. Grant Gary and Dan Rebensdorf of The Woodmont Company represented the landlord.

“Conn's Home Plus is a great addition to Wendland Plaza and the surrounding community,” said Gary. “We are working to continue the momentum of bringing high-quality retailers and restaurants to Killeen, and anticipate several additional new tenant announcements in the near future.”

Located at the Northwest corner of Hwy 190 and Fort Hood Street, Wendland Plaza is adjacent to the Fort Hood Military Base's main housing community. The center is currently 75% leased to several key tenants including Altitude Trampoline Park, Starbucks and the UPS Store.

“In today's rapidly evolving retail environment, merchandise mix catered to the target customer is of tantamount importance to the success of a center,” Gary tells GlobeSt.com. “We believe Conn's Home Plus will be a strong addition to Wendland Plaza, adding yet another synergistic use to the project on the heels of the addition of Attitude Trampoline Park.”

Founded in 1980, Dallas-based The Woodmont Company specializes in the development, management, leasing and sale of US retail properties. The company has developed more than 15 million square feet of retail real estate with a value of more than $4 billion and currently owns, manages and/or leases more than 20 million square feet of shopping centers, including third-party management and leasing for institutional clients, realty advisors and private investors.
