Working from home may not be the cat's-meow that it is chalked-up to be. The Wall Street Journal reported that according to a recent study by VitalSmarts, a corporate training firm, indicated that remote workers are more likely than on-site workers to believe their associates don't treat them equally, and individuals working remotely also have trouble solving work difficulties because they rarely meet face-to-face with their supervisors. In other words, “out of sight, out of mind.''

According to the study, the key to a successful remote workplace belongs with the supervisor who needs to remain connected with regular check-in and personal engagement. Many firms require remote employees to report to the office on a regular basis for critically important personal interaction, and to ward off the demons that emerge when they are apart and feeling unloved.
