NEW YORK CITY—Berkadia has tapped a Fannie Mae veteran as EVP and head of mortgage banking. Hilary Provinse joins Berkadia after 15 years with the GSE, where she served most recently as SVP and head of multifamily customer engagement.
“While at Fannie Mae, I saw Berkadia investing in its people and culture and focusing on innovation, process and technology to grow its mortgage banking footprint exponentially to better serve customers,” says Provinse. “I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to build upon that success.”
Provinse will oversee a 130-member team in 31 offices across the country and will be a member of Berkadia's management committee. She's reporting to Ernie Katai, Berkadia's EVP and head of production.
During Provinse's time with Fannie, she led the multifamily production team to double its production volume over a four-year period. “We are extremely fortunate to have Hilary join the Berkadia team,” says CEO Justin Wheeler. “With more than 20 years of experience and leadership in CRE capital markets, she is a dynamic leader and forward thinker. Before joining Fannie, Provinse spent nearly a decade on Wall Street in investment banking and fixed income trading at Goldman Sachs and Bear Stearns. Her experience in agency lending puts her on familiar territory at Berkadia: the firm was the top-ranked HUD loan originator in 2016, the second biggest for Freddie Mac and fourth for Fannie.
