HOUSTON—Adding to a list of accolades the firm has garnered over the past few months, Transwestern has been named one of the “100 Best Workplaces for Diversity” by Great Place to Work and Fortune magazine. The Houston-based services firm was recognized for diversity based on employee survey feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified organizations, and was also rated at 95% or better in a number of other areas.

“It's an honor to be recognized for our efforts to cultivate and provide opportunities for a talented team of professionals—a group that represents all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures,” says Larry Heard, CEO at Transwestern. “We believe that tapping into a diverse mix of experiences, personalities, ideas and problem-solving approaches, while at the same time sharing a common purpose, is what makes Transwestern successful.”

Adds Michael P. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work, “The Best Workplaces for Diversity have achieved something beyond basic fairness. They find ways to connect with each and every employee, listening to their challenges and building on their talents.”

Transwestern's Great Place to Work profile, based on input from 674 surveys earlier this year, also reflects what team members see as a positive work environment throughout the organization. Ninety-seven percent of those surveyed this year said Transwestern has a great atmosphere, 96% believe there is great communication and 95% feel there are great challenges for team members.

The firm's regional operations have also won commendations. Wednesday also saw Transwestern's New York office take top honors in the “Best Places to Work in New York City” ranking by Crain's New York Business. It's the second year in a row for the New York office, and marks the first time a New York City employer has received the Crain's accolade for two years' running.

2017 has also seen Great Place to Work and Fortune rank Transwestern among the best workplaces in Chicago and Texas. On a national level, the two organizations have also recognized Transwestern among their “Best Workplaces for Women” and “Best Workplaces for Millennials” this year.
