COLUMBUS, OH—Trent Brooks has been named president and national head of production at RED Mortgage Capital LLC, the mortgage banking arm of RED Capital Group. The 30-year multifamily finance veteran brings long-term relationships with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Administration to RED, along with expertise in business development, investor relations, strategic planning and product development. He'll be based in both Newport Beach, CA and at RED headquarters in Columbus, OH.

Before joining RED earlier this week, Brooks was a cofounder of Sierra Capital Partners and GlenBrook Capital Advisors. Most recently he served as EVP and director, Western region at Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital. He has also been COO at Lyon Communities as well as president of Bankers Mutual, where he served for over 15 years

Citing Brooks' combination of “vast industry experience and creative thinking,” RED Capital CEO Ted Meylor says he's “the perfect fit to help grow RED's market share, enhance customer service and lead our agency relationships. I am confident in Trent's ability to build upon our already strong connections with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA and HUD.”
