Spaces coworking space

SAN FRANCISCO—The co-working space market continues to grow unabated in the Bay Area. Spaces Levi's Plaza, which opened earlier this week, is new to the flexible workspace scene. It offers professionals a 32,000-square-foot business hub built around the concept of shared ideas and innovation in a creative workspace concept.

Located at 1160 Battery St. East in the waterfront community, Spaces Levi's Plaza is minutes away from Fisherman's Wharf and the central business district. This new location will put members with startup and established businesses in the center of an entrepreneurial neighborhood environment.

Spaces Levi's Plaza will be the Amsterdam-based creative workspace pioneer's fourth location in the Bay Area following the launch of the Paramount Building location at Mission and 3rd earlier this year. Other Bay Area locations are in Menlo Park, Santana Row in San Jose and the Clocktower in San Mateo. It is also the brand's ninth location in California.

“We have 3,000 locations globally,” Michael Berretta, vice president network development, Americas at Spaces, tells GlobeSt.com. “These collaborative, interesting locations are drawing our focus. They have unique characteristics. For example, Levi's Plaza has access to transit, green space and is walkable. The Bay Area is a natural location for us. We are pretty discerning in a vibrant commercial real estate climate such as the Bay Area. We are actively looking to eventually develop our presence in every trade area.”

Spaces workspaces are in entrepreneurial settings designed to integrate lifestyle into work. Members are encouraged to build networks by initiating new connections in the space.

The environment also has a 3,170-square-foot business club that allows members to work and interact. And, there are more than 290 private desks available for rent and two meeting rooms that can be rented by the hour or day by members or community residents. Business and networking events will be hosted at the site to further encourage connection and collaboration, including Tedx Talks, which bring TED-style events hosted by community residents to Spaces locations worldwide.
