Rendering of new GS1 headquarters, Princeton South Corporate Center, Princeton, NJ

Princeton, NJ—GS1, a not-for-profit organization that provides global standards for efficient business communication, most notably the standards for bar codes, is building a new 42,000-square-foot headquarters building in the Princeton South Corporate Center, with completion expected in October 2018.

The Opus Group, a family of commercial real estate development, construction and design companies headquartered in Minneapolis, is building the project for GS1.

“We're thrilled to continue our work in the Princeton South Corporate Center in New Jersey by providing GS1 with a new, efficient headquarters,” says Matt Rauenhorst, vice president, real estate development, with Opus Development Company. “We are pleased that the environment and amenities make this the right move for GS1 and a great new addition to the Corporate Center.”

The Princeton South Corporate Center is located at the intersection of Highway 95 and Pennington Road in Ewing, N.J., just south of Princeton, with access to Interstate 95 and easy access off Route 31.

The new two-story facility features an outdoor patio, walking path, employee café space, and an open floor plan to foster collaboration, innovation and open communication. The headquarters is designed to enhance employee efficiency, while the new location is meant to help attract and retain top talent in the market. The corporate center offers communal amenities, including a fitness center and additional walking paths and conference facilities.

Opus Development Company is the developer, Opus Design Build is the design builder and Opus AE Group is the architect and engineer of record. Opus' previous work in the Princeton South Corporate Center includes the Church & Dwight Co. Corporate Headquarters, a 250,000-square-foot corporate campus.
