LOS ANGELES—RealtyMogul has brought in REIT executive Aaron Halfacre as president. The veteran of two decades in commercial real estate will devise company-wide strategy and drive its execution, and will also be a voting member of RealtyMogul's investment committee, which has invested in over $1.4 billion of real estate since the company's founding in 2013.

Halfacre most recently served as president and CIO at Campus Crest, and was instrumental in shepherding the student housing REIT's $1.9-billion privatization by Harrison Street Real Estate Capital. He joined the company as EVP and head of capital markets. Prior to Campus Crest, he was an executive with another publicly traded REIT, Cole Real Estate Investments, where he served as head of strategic relations.

Before working in the REIT space, Halfacre served as chief of staff and head of product development for BlackRock's global real estate group, where he led the development of over $3 billion of private real estate product. During his time with the world's largest asset manager, he also served as the COO of a $14-billion global equities investment team
