707 Commerce Street

DALLAS—A three-story 16-unit townhome project recently broke ground at 707 W. Commerce St., two blocks north of Oaxaca Interests' flagship Sylvan | Thirty development. Sam Sawyer with Collective Residential has been selected to market the project, which is being built by Crimson Builders.

“Historically, West Dallas has been an underserved area in both retail and residential. With several land holdings, Oaxaca Interests is in a solid position to keep filling these community needs and drive momentum forward,” added Brent Jackson, president of Oaxaca Interests.

Starting at $324,000, the 1,380- to 1,510-square-foot one-bedroom townhomes will each feature large windows, spacious garages, private yards, open kitchens that lead to a dining and living area, and a full bedroom and bathroom on the top floor. All units share access to a community pool and guest parking on the half-acre lot. A 15-foot wide sidewalk with hardscaping will line West Commerce Street.

“Oaxaca Interests enlisted award-winning architecture firm Far + Dang for the project as we share a similar forward-thinking approach to design. Known for their incredible use of space and natural light, the duo's progressive and contemporary design aesthetic falls perfectly in line with our vision for 707,” said Jackson.

Landscape architecture firm Hocker Design Group has also been tapped to lead the development's landscaping and hardscaping effort.

Oaxaca Interests recently announced the expansion of nearby Sylvan | Thirty, as well as the redeveloping of the W&B Refrigeration Service Company at 660 Fort Worth Ave. (at Yorktown Street) into a creative dining and retail space.

“This project is turning a former industrial site into a new, owner-occupied townhome community at a reasonable price point,” Jackson tells GlobeSt.com. “It's something that the community has been asking for in the West Commerce and Fort Worth Avenue corridor.”

Oaxaca Interests is a Dallas-based investment, development and asset management company.
