KPMG Plaza

DALLAS—Another long-term lease has been inked at KPMG Plaza at HALL Arts in the Dallas Arts District. Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP will occupy 42,000 square feet in the top two penthouse floors at HALL Arts and is expected to move into the space in July 2018.Â

In the past five years, Bell Nunnally has added 33 attorneys, including nine partners, and launched several new practice areas, including white collar crime, regulatory defense and cryptocurrency/Bitcoin.

“After experiencing tremendous growth in all facets of the firm during our 30 years in Uptown Dallas, we decided to move to the prestigious Dallas Arts District. The new location will help us better serve our clients and continue to attract and retain top legal talent,” said Jim Skochdopole, managing partner of Bell Nunnally.

Bell Nunnally will move into its new space on the building's 18th and 19th floors, bringing KPMG Plaza to 93% leased. Other major tenants at the building include anchor tenant KPMG, Jackson Walker LLP, UMB Bank, SpencerStuart, Teknion, Serendipity Labs and Hall Group.

“Bell Nunnally is a great addition to our roster of quality firms at KPMG Plaza and we are thrilled to welcome them to the building,” Kim Butler, director of leasing at HALL Group, tells GlobeSt.com. “With a rich history spanning almost four decades in Dallas, we know they will continue their tradition of excellence from their new home in the Dallas Arts District.”

Jeff Ellerman, vice chairman, and John Ellerman with CBRE in Dallas represented Bell Nunnally, and Butler with HALL Group represented the landlord in lease negotiations. CBRE's Scott Eldredge, Kris Hopson, Lynn Lem and Darcy Pinham will lead project management, move and furniture coordination services for Bell Nunnally. Gensler's team of Paul Manno and Cherrie Wysong is leading the design of the new offices and Scott + Reid will serve as general contractors for the project.

“After a full evaluation of the downtown and Uptown market, Bell Nunnally negotiated a strategic long-term transaction for the top two floors at Hall Arts with 12 foot-high ceilings and expansive views,” said Jeff Ellerman. “It will be an inspiring space for them to practice law for many years to come.”

HALL Arts is a 5-acre, mixed-use, three-phase development on two full city blocks developed by HALL Group. Completed in 2015 and designed by internationally acclaimed architects HKS Inc., the first phase of the development includes KPMG Plaza, a 500,000-square-foot LEED Gold-certified office building. The building features 26,000 square feet of typical floor plates, 12-foot ceiling heights and three on-site restaurants. The development's second phase, featuring HALL Arts Hotel and Residences, is currently under construction.

The development also includes the adjacent public Texas Sculpture Walk featuring contemporary sculptures by famed Texas artists; the HALL Collection, comprised of commissions and installations of international works of art; and HALL Arts Parking, a seven-level underground parking facility offering one of the highest office parking ratios in the city.
