Tom Monahan, executive vice president, CBRE

SADDLE BROOK, NJ—CBRE says Thomas Monahan, executive vice president, transaction and advisory services, was the firm's top industrial professional in the Americas for 2017, a first for New Jersey.

Completing more than 50 transactions for an aggregate value of more than half a billion dollars, Monahan, a 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, set a national pace for value creation on behalf of CBRE clients, including a 923,000 square-foot lease in Edison, New Jersey on behalf of Seagis Property Group, and a 718,200 square-foot lease in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on behalf of Bridge Development. Monahan also earned overall top performance honors in New Jersey for the third consecutive year.

“Tom continues to deliver remarkable results for his clients through a combination of deep market expertise, strong strategic leadership, comprehensive financial acumen and a unique ability to identify opportunities ahead of the market,” says Jeff Hipschman, senior managing director, CBRE. “He provides our clients with profound market perspective and strategic counsel. We congratulate Tom on earning the top industrial professional recognition in the Americas for 2017.”

Monahan and his team, which includes Stephen D'Amato, first vice president, Larry Schiffenhaus, vice president, Gerard Monahan, real estate analyst and Anastasia Lazarides, client services specialist, are already off to a strong start in 2018.

Since January, he has represented Murray Construction in its recent 404,000 square-foot lease with Bergen Logistics, and Duke Realty in its 354,250 square-foot lease with 4PX Express USA. On the tenant side of business, Tom and his team represented CEVA Freight in a new long-term 95,640 square-foot lease at an industrial facility in Piscataway, NJ.

Monahan has been recognized year after year by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors—the industry's leading consortium of industrial and office real estate professionals—as the region's top industrial sales producer.

Monahan holds a BS in Business Management from Seton Hall University and completed the Commercial Investment Management (CCIM) certification from New York University.
