NEW YORK CITY--On the USS Intrepid, what was once a WWII naval aircraft carrier, now a museum and event space, the New York City Chapter of CoreNet Global held its annual dinner on Thursday night. More than 900 guests attended the event that focused on celebrating the real estate industry and networking. Starting the evening with drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by a seated dinner and then to another area for desserts and more drinks—the socializing extended past midnight.

At the dinner, three students were awarded $7,500 CoreNet scholarships: Stephen Allen (NYU Schack Institute), Alex Grant (Columbia Business School), and Aran Nafisi-Movaghar (Fordham Gabelli School of Business).

This year's annual dinner committee included Jennifer Abbattista, Damian Besculides, Kelley Douglass, Deirdre Fenlon, Kim Ferguson, Rob Fini, Morgan Gorospe, Luke Graham, Allyson Hajdu, Greg Herman, Brett Kaplan, Linda Neely, Brian Schwagerl, Kristine Scotto, Suzanne Sullivan, Adam Thilges, Arthur Thomson and Sonya Verny. Working with the committee, the Berman Group handled the event planning for the soirée at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

CoreNet New York City is a professional association that provides educational and career opportunities for people working in real estate and related sectors. It offers content on industry trends, professional development, workplace strategies and technology. For example, earlier this year, one guest speaker from Deloitte Consulting presented on how blockchain will affect the real estate industry.
