Cushman & Wakefield Names Courtney to Oversee Atlanta Brokerage Practice

ATLANTA, GA—Cushman & Wakefield promoted Tyler Courtney, senior vice president of global occupier services, to head of the firm’s office tenant representation practice.
“Tyler has been heavily involved with our Office Tenant Representation group, assisting top-tier companies in their real estate decision making process,” says John O’Neill, regional managing principal of Cushman & Wakefield’s Atlanta office, who oversees the all of the firm’s operations in Atlanta and throughout the firm’s Southeast and South Central regions. “Tyler’s extensive knowledge and expertise will help this team continue to be one of the top office tenant representation groups in Atlanta.”
Courtney has more than 12 years of corporate real estate experience. Specializing in helping middle-market companies with their leased and owned real estate across the United States, Courtney leads the portfolio solutions group in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, focusing on corporate portfolio optimization.

A native of Telluride, CO, real estate came naturally to Courtney, the son of a real estate broker and homebuilder in the mountain town. “Coming out of college in the south, I saw Atlanta as a city with incredible opportunity. We’ve sealed our position as the capital of the south and are well positioned for growth for many years to come.”
Courtney replaces Lawrence Gellerstedt, who will continue to focus on his local tech practice along with partners Clinton McKellar and Katherine Merkel.
In 2012, Courtney was awarded the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors’ Leadership Award, and he was previously recognized as a Future Leader by the Real Estate Group of Atlanta. He currently leads fundraising efforts for Cushman Cares, Cushman & Wakefield Atlanta’s internal philanthropy group. Courtney is actively involved with Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities and Meals on Wheels Atlanta, a board member of Duke University’s Atlanta Alumni Association and an active participant and alumnus of LEAD Atlanta.
Courtney holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University, an MBA in from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
