The Forum at Sam Houston
HOUSTON - The Preiss Co. acquired the 450-bed student housing complex The Forum at Sam Houston, in a joint venture with TH Real Estate. The complex is less than a mile from Sam Houston State University.Built in 2011, The Forum has one, two, and three-bedroom floor plans, with private bedrooms and bathrooms. The property is within easy biking distance to university classrooms, and it also provides a private bus service to and from campus. In the fall, The Forum will begin renovation, including exterior and interior painting and new furniture. The Preiss Co. will manage the property and oversee this renovation.Donna Preiss, founder and CEO of The Preiss Co., stated “This is our second joint venture acquisition with TH Real Estate in the past two months, and we seek other opportunities to build on our relationship with them."She also said that the renovation and new management should increase occupancy for the 2018/2019 school year by as much as 10% above current levels with a target in the mid- to high-90% leasing range.
